OUR PHILOSOPHY
Wing Chun Kung Fu, also known as Wing Tsun, is a Chinese martial art that originated in the southern part of China around 300 years ago during the Qing Dynasty. The exact origins of Wing Chun are shrouded in mystery and folklore, with several different theories and legends associated with its creation.
One of the most popular legends attributes the creation of Wing Chun to a Buddhist nun named Ng Mui, who was one of the legendary Five Elders—survivors of the destruction of the Shaolin Temple by the Qing Dynasty. According to the legend, Ng Mui created Wing Chun after witnessing a fight between a snake and a crane. She taught the martial art to a young woman named Yim Wing Chun as a means to defend herself against a local warlord who was trying to force her into marriage. Yim Wing Chun used the martial art to defeat the warlord, and later named the martial art after herself.

Wing Chun is known for its emphasis on close-range combat, quick punches and kicks, and a defense strategy that involves simultaneously attacking and defending. It also emphasizes relaxation, and using the opponent's force against them rather than relying on brute strength
